Tithing - How we Share our Blessings
Tithing is a word from the Bible that simply means tenth. God calls us to share the first 10% of our income with him. At St. John we encourage our members to Grow into a 90/10 principal, living off of 90% of your income and giving 10% to your local church. God has worked so much over the years through St. John in the Golden Triangle and beyond, and we know He will provide for you and your house when you put Him first in your finances. In fact, it’s the one area in the Bible where God tells you to test Him.
SCRIPTURE SHARES ABOUT THE TITHE
Malachi 3:10 Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.

Generosity
God Shares everything with us because He loves us. He gives us good things we do not deserve and could never earn, like grace, forgiveness, and above all, His own Son. In all this he calls on us to share what we have just as he shares with us. This can mean sharing your resources above and beyond the tithe to God's Church, this can also mean sharing generously in all that God has blessed you with, including your time in your talents.
