Pastor Peter Williamson, Sarah, Levi and Emily
“I was born and raised in the Golden State of California, I pray you will not hold it against me. I was baptized and grew up in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. I’ve always been interested in music, especially as a form of worship. This led me to pursue a degree in music.
After college I worked as a music teacher at St. Mark Lutheran Church and School. From there, I felt called to pursue a pastoral education. I always knew that I wanted to work in the church, even from a young age, but God intended for me not to be a music minister, but to be a pastor. I attended Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. While there, I met my wife and the love of my life, Sarah. She is smart, fun and great with our kids. She is a trained educator with a degree in Special Education. We were married in June 2015 and had our first child, Levi, in June 2016. |
I received my first call to serve as pastor of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Midland, Texas. Here I spent several years doing God’s work and growing as a leader and as a shepherd. I truly believe that God has prepared me for this time and season at St. John through my many and various experiences.
In August 2018, Sarah and I welcomed our second child, Emily. We are all eager to get settled in and continue the good work that Christ has prepared for all of us in advance to do. In all my trials and struggles I keep the words of David always close to my heart:
Psalm 32:1–2 Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.”
